First line: "I'd always welcomed war, but in battle my passion rose unbidden."
About: Calla is in training to be the new alpha of her wolf pack, which means marrying the pack's alpha male and leading her wolves against their enemies, the Searchers. Calla finds her heart being torn in two when a human boy moves into her town and Calla is sworn to protect him. Will Calla choose the human boy over her pack?
My Thoughts: Thrilling and filled with interesting secondary characters, Calla and her werewolves are an addicting read. I love the strong female characters and plot twits that keep readers on their toes. The sequel, "Wolfsbane" is out now.
Highlights: Compelling, fast paced, intriguing secondary characters
Readalikes: Try "Shiver" by Maggie Stiefvater, "Blood and Chocolate" by Annette Curtis Klause and "Paranormalcy" by Kiersten White you will also try author Cassandra Clare's books.
